Summer day 35 - A solid couple of hours of writing and researching to finish the background.  Yes, I said finish.  This section - all 4200 words - has taken only eight months to complete.  This is a new record for me.  Now, I just have to finish up the results, which means getting a hold of the population data and completing the analysis!!
Summer day 35 - Writing now!

Summer day 34 complete!  Well, one hour turned into many, but I think I am wrapping up the background section.  Will complete district specialization tomorrow, fill in references, and hopefully get some data from Chaoyi on population.  Might just be able to start rethinking results.

Summer day 34 - Just spent a solid 20 minutes looking for conferences on Chinese urbanization.  Seems as though I missed several this summer, and there is nothing new on the horizon.  Where will I ever present this work?  Starting writing now -- with a canceled trip to the MultiTemp conference, the only way to recover is to finish this darn paper.  Now.

Summer days 31, 32, 33 - Well, weekends are never good.  Monday was a mess due to a canceled trip to Banff.  Back at it today (day 34!).
Summer days 29-30 - Didn't get a chance to post, but a productive 4.5 hours last Thursday, and a reasonable 1 hour on Friday.  Stuck on restructuring paper to include analysis of population data.

Summer day 28 continued - Well, managed to kill nearly two hours by focusing on edits to existing text.  Does this count?  I will now force myself to write one hour on land use specialization.  Ugh.  The planning maps for Chengdu say it all, don't they?

Master plans of Chengdu, China, indicating land use zones.
