Summer day 35 - A solid couple of hours of writing and researching to finish the background. Yes, I said finish. This section - all 4200 words - has taken only eight months to complete. This is a new record for me. Now, I just have to finish up the results, which means getting a hold of the population data and completing the analysis!!

Summer day 34 - Just spent a solid 20 minutes looking for conferences on Chinese urbanization. Seems as though I missed several this summer, and there is nothing new on the horizon. Where will I ever present this work? Starting writing now -- with a canceled trip to the MultiTemp conference, the only way to recover is to finish this darn paper. Now.

Summer day 28 continued - Well, managed to kill nearly two hours by focusing on edits to existing text. Does this count? I will now force myself to write one hour on land use specialization. Ugh. The planning maps for Chengdu say it all, don't they?
