Fall day 8 - Success!  Wrote and developed the discussion for the Western cities paper for more than an hour.  Hooray!  Need to work in a paragraph on similarities (reforms), and issues related to the data / methods.  Maybe more on that in a little while?  Would be nice to finish this up!  Is it cheating to combine the discussion and conclusion sections simply to avoid having to write another section?

Fall days 5, 6, 7 - Utter failure.  MUST start writing on the weekends.  With a new nanny in place, writing on Mondays should also be possible!

Fall day 4 - Getting a late start, but the discussion sections await.  Very unmotivated and unfocused today.  Maybe 30 minutes?  Ugh.

Fall day 3 continued - Ha!  Just wrote 800-900 words of the discussion for the Western cities paper.  Is it good?  Probably not!  But it's a start... More on the discussion tomorrow.  The goal is to just get something down on paper, and then maybe let Kurt take a crack at improving it.
Fall day 3 - Starting now.  Discussion section.  End of story.

Fall day 2 - 30 minutes nearly complete, and that is the best I can do, I'm afraid.  The head just hurts too much.  I will work on figures or references or something in the meantime.  Hopefully more writing later today!!
Fall day 2 - A brand new semester.... After Fall day 1 was a complete failure for writing (first day of class madness, and delivery of all outputs to the World Bank - a rather auspicious day!), I am back at it today.  I must must must finish the discussion of paper one from this summer.  This would likely be easier without a migraine, but here goes nothing.  It's just one hour.  It's just one hour.  Argh.  It's just one hour.

Summer days 71-96 - the UPDATE - Against all odds, I wrote for at least one hour every day during August.  The result?  A nearly complete paper #2 for this summer!  Hooray.  I took a well-deserved respite from writing during the last week of August (coinciding with severe jet lag, a sick baby, and my own illness), but am back at now that September has begun.
